Consumer prices in October 2018 rose by 2.5% year-on-year

In October 2018, national consumer prices rose by 2.5% year-on-year. Among them, cities rose by 2.5%, rural areas rose by 2.6%; food prices rose by 3.3%, non-food prices rose by 2.4%; consumer prices rose by 2.8%, and service prices rose by 2.1%. From January to October, the national consumer price rose 2.1% over the same period last year.

First, the year-on-year changes in the prices of various goods and services

The price of food, tobacco and alcohol increased by 2.9% year-on-year, affecting the consumer price index (CPI) by about 0.87 percentage points. Among them, the price of fresh fruit rose by 11.5%, affecting the CPI by about 0.18 percentage points; the price of fresh vegetables rose by 10.1%, affecting the rise of CPI. 0.25 percentage points; egg prices rose 8.5%, affecting CPI by about 0.05 percentage points; poultry prices rose by 4.3%, affecting CPI by about 0.05 percentage points; food prices rose by 0.6%, affecting CPI by about 0.01 percentage points; The price of the category rose by 0.4%, affecting the CPI by about 0.02% (the price of pork fell by 1.3%, which affected the CPI by about 0.03 percentage points).

The prices of the other seven categories rose year-on-year. Among them, transportation and communication, medical care prices rose by 3.2% and 2.6% respectively, residential, education, culture and entertainment prices rose by 2.5%, daily necessities and services, clothing, other supplies and services prices. They rose by 1.5%, 1.4% and 1.3% respectively.

The price of food, tobacco and alcohol decreased by 0.1% from the previous month, affecting the CPI by about 0.02%.
